The surprise of the year. The Portuguese pianist Artur Pereira, still relatively unknown in German-speaking countries, has made a new recording of Beethoven’s ‘Appassionata’ Op. 57 in a breathtaking interpretation. Seldom before has this sonata sounded so powerful and charismatic in its dramaturgy. This wonderful album is rounded off by a cycle of piano pieces by Luiz Costa.
